While most people are familiar with the discipline of Criminology , few are aware of the newer sub-profession of Clinical Criminologist . In fact, that designation is foreign to the Unites States but common in the UK, Israel, and various European countries. Clinical Criminology has been referred to as a bridge between forensic professionals . The Clinical Criminologist, by nature of their unique multidisciplinary education and professional life experiences, is most qualified to moderate between experts in the field of mental health field and those in the legal field. Simply stated, the Clinical Criminologist is examining individual criminal behavior through the combined lens of the dynamics of criminal activity, the psychological aspects of crime, and the psychopathology of the offender.
